In the mid-1980s, the work was part of the groundbreaking exhibition and collection presentation "Tiefe Blicke" (Deep Insights) at the Hessisches Landesmuseum in Darmstadt. Since then, it has been on permanent loan and is now being offered on the auction market for the first time.
