APOSTLE SILVER SPOON.
Danzig. Ca. 1690. Johann Rhode II.

Silver, partly gilt. Broad, roundish bowl with ornamented intermediate piece to the handle. Ther on the obverse
side two fish resp. verso the monograms of the patrons 'I.D.' / 'Z.B.' as well as coat of
arms with swan. At the end of the handle figure of an apostle, presumably Saint Simon. Ca. 62g. Length 21.5cm.

Inspection mark Gdansk (Rosenberg no.1499), maker's mark, slightly indistinct, Johann Rhode II (active 1684-1720, ibid. no.1575). Condition A/B.

Provenance:
Collection Frank Lynder, Berlin. Acquired in May 1982 at Schepers-Bruens, Münster.
