Porcelain painted underglaze with strong cobalt blue with heap and pile on the surface. Underneath unglazed. Deep dish with swung wall on a low footring. In fine painting a medallion with a spiral border a pair of dragon and phoenix looking at each other amidst flower scrolls. On the wall alternating dragons and phoenix in profile on a background of dense flower scrolls. The motiv is similar on the outside. At the rim a border of meander pattern, at the foot with spirals. Height 8cm, Ø 35cm. In a reserve of the meander border at the rim a horizontal four part mark 'Wanlin nian zhi', but later. Condition C. Gold lacquer repair in the wall. Hairline crack and chip at the rim.
