Presumably Berlin. Ca.1815.

Mahogany polished and partly carved. Upholstered. Volute-shaped front legs. High, scooped backrest. To the frame various inventory labels and numbers as StE 15810, 15812, 15813, 15814, 15815, 15817, 15818, 15819, 15821. Height 88cm. Condition B.


Provenance:
- The Princely Collection Thurn und Taxis, Regensburg. Sotheby's Sale 19.-21. October 1998, Lot 3681.


- Private collection Hessen.



The original location for the chairs was Thurn und Taxis Castle Garatshausen on lake Starnberg. The series of nine chairs offered here originally belonged to a complete salon furnishing.
