About the service see p.289f.

Heinrich Count von Podewils (1695-1760) was appointed cabinet minister to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Frederick the Great. As foreign minister, he led the negotiations with Austria and Saxony, which then led to the peace treaties of Breslau (1742) and Dresden (1745). The service, decorated with his coat of arms, was presumably given to him as a token of gratitude by Frederick II. It was created after models that Kaendler and Eberlein had developed for a service for the Elector Clemens August of Cologne. In his work reports, Kaendler refers to the service in an entry from July 1742. The entire service was probably completed by the end of 1742.
