RARE TEABOWL IN THE SHAPE OF A WESTERN WINE GOBLET.

Origin: Japan.
Dynasty: Edo period.
Date: Ca. 1650.
Technique: Oribe stoneware, glazed transparent, painted with iron oxid and with stripes of thick green glaze.
Description: The unusual western shape is painted with grasses and chidori plovers between the
undulating stripes of green glaze. This style is called Mino-Yoshichida. Wooden box,
purple silk bag and hashira cushions.
Measurement: H.8.7cm, Ø 13.4cm.
Condition A/B. Supplement: Oribe-mizusashi (19x12cm) and chawan (7x12cm), painted iron brown. Japan. 20th c. Condition A/B.
