Maker/Designer: After the model by Tina Haim-Wentscher in 1921.
Technique: Plaster, colour coded with lovely patina. Bolted to wooden pedestal.
Description: Plaster, colour coded with lovely patina. Bolted to wooden pedestal. This copy of the ancient original faithfully reproduces all the bumpings and damage of the original, as well as the queen's delicate facial features.
The round mark of the State Plaster Casting Workshop is stamped on the back. On the
underside, model no. 539, the date "II.31" and the mould maker's mark "MK" are scratched into the wet plaster. Painter's mark "BB" in black for B. Besser. Height without pedestal 50 cm (corresponds to the size of the original). Size with pedestal: 57x21x35cm. The area on the left side that is marked on the original is hatched in blue.

Private collection Bayern.
This bust is a historical antique copy of the original from between 1353 and 1336 BC,
which has been in the collection of the Egyptian Museum in Berlin since 1920. The sculptor Tina Haim-Wentscher was commissioned in 1913/14 to create a copy of the original bust, which was intended for James Simon and Emperor Wilhelm II. After the bust was given to the museum on permanent loan in 1920, Haim-Wentscher was again commissioned to create another version as a template for the reproduction of the bust.
