LARGE MARBLE DINING TABLE "EROS".

Technique: Greyish-brown veined marble.
Description: Slim, conical base with a wide, overhanging table top.
Measurement: Height 74cm, Ø 129cm.
Foot with small abrasion at the top of the outer rim.

The Italian architect and designer Angelo Mangiarotti was born in Milan in 1921 and graduated in architecture in 1948. During his time as a guest lecturer at the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago in 1953-54, he also established contacts with Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright and Walter Gropius. Back in Italy, he initially founded a company together with Bruno Morasutti in 1955, before setting up on his own in 1960. Mangiarotti was honoured with numerous design and architecture awards. His work has been shown in many exhibitions worldwide, including at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
