ARCHAISING DRAGON CUP FROM JADE.
Origin: China.
Date: In the style of the Han dynasty, but later.
Technique: Brown jade with parts in beige, carved three dimensional, engraved and polished.
Description: The narrow cup of square shape on a high, swinging foot. The cup outside with rectangular
reserves, filled with spiral shapes in flat relief. On each of the opposite sides a three
dimensional dragon. One of them looking over the rim. On each of the other sides a panther
mask. Foot and lip with engraved flower borders.
Measurement: H.14.3cm, 6.5x6.3cm.
