RARE TABLE CRUCIFIX.

Date: Ca. 1870.
Technique: Bronze, gilt and silver-plated. Emille decor. Gem stone inset.
Description: On a broad, slightly fluted round base with scenes of the Passion of Christ, the cross
with Christ's body above a striking nodus. Fine, photorealistic enamel portraits of the
donor couple on the reverse.
Measurement: Height 45cm, width 20cm.
Mark: Inspection mark Aachen, maker's mark August Witte (from 1865, the workplace continued existing after his death in 1883 and was continued by his family).
One of the amethyst beads of the crucifix missing.
