Badier. Paris

Date: Early 19th century.
Technique: Gilt bronze.
Description: Rectangular pedestal with panel, decorated with a shallow relief. It shows a fine
depiction of Narcissus lying by the spring, falling in love with his reflection. On top of
the pedestal the threedimensional figurine of Narcissus approaching the spring. The clock
case in the shape of a stela with reeds and a water surface. Enamel dial with Roman
numerals. Round 14-day pendulum movement. Thread suspension and half hour strike on bell.
Measurement: 37x31x13,5cm.
Mark: On dial inscr. "Badier à Paris" (Rue Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois, Horloger en pendules, 1812).
