BRONZE BUDDAH SHAKYAMUNI.
Origin: Sri Lanka.
Date: 19th/20th c.
Technique: Heavy yellow cast.
Description: Standing, the right hand raised in abhaya-mudra, the left hand hanging down. The small
head with long, protruding ears is crowned by a flame (siraspata). The tight-fitting robe,
which leaves the right shoulder free, falls in fine undulating folds. Figure set in a
modern plinth.
Measurement: Height 22cm.
