CENSER WITH CRANES, SPARROWS AND DRAGON.

Origin: Japan.
Date: Before 1900.
Technique: Bronze with shiny, reddish brown patina.
Description: The bulbous body with two medallions with cranes beneath old pines, resp. sparrows on
flowering camellia. The three legs in the shape of elephant heads with long trunks, the
handles from bamboo. The openwork lid with a dragon holding a flaming pearl in top.
Measurement: H.59cm.
Condition A/B. Dragon partly loose.


Provenance:
-Elinor Vicomtesse de Milhau, née Hölterhoff, by inheritance until today in a private collection in Cologne.
-The pieces were acquired in France before 1900.
