COPPER VAJRASATTVA-HELMET.
Origin: East Tibet.
Date: Ca. 1900.
Technique: Copper, silver, rock crystal, various stone cabochons.
Description: The three-tiered helmet with a five-petalled tiara. Decorated with the five transcendent
Buddhas made of copper, seated on lotus bases in front of nimbs and surrounded by tendril
work and lotus buds running into the wish jewel. On the second step four fittingly curved
silver fittings with Buddhist emblems, above Vajrasattva. The top of the headdress
decorated with a half vajra of rock crystal.
Measurement: 45x24cm.
Some of the stone inlays lost resp. replaced.
