"Two of the most obivous themes through which one could examine Danh Vo's practice are biography and lineage. This is in part a result of the subjects the artist chooses as well as how this family members and their personal story have become intertwined with objects. Many of his works have to do with the complexities of being Vietnamese not in Vietnam as well as the Western-ness already in Vietnam."
Michael Newman, Parkett no. 93, 2013.
