Fränzi: Skinny and delicate, vivid in the movements, unselfconscious and harmonic with her the "Brücke"-painter Heckel, Kirchner and Pechstein experienced between 1909 and 1911 completely new opportunities of the illustration of the female nude. Nothing from the calssic life painting with frozen poses! Lina Franziska Fehrmann, called "Fränzi", eight and threequarter years old, moves with contagious happiness trough the studio, jumped around vividly, did gynastics and even ran around on roller scates. She was constantly moving also by the Moritzburger Teichen threw with reed, swang in the hammock, bathed in shallow water. Even if she - like in our drawing - sits still for one moment it is just a swift transition. (Gerd Presler)
