We are very pleased to offer you again in this "Fine Art" auction first-class works by the artist Friedrich Kallmorgen from the collection of Rolf Kaletta - including some of the collector's favorites. Friedrich Kallmorgen is one of the leading German impressionists of the turn of the century and is especially known and appreciated for his atmospheric city and landscape views, mostly of Hamburg and Karlsruhe - by collectors and institutions alike.
Over several decades, Rolf Kaletta built up a comprehensive collection of museum-quality works by Kallmorgen. Already in 2020 Kaletta entrusted VAN HAM with some of the artist's works as well as personal anecdotes that arosed in the course of collecting activities and provide insight into the deep bond between the collector and the artist. When Rolf Kaletta passed away last September, he left behind an impressive collection of paintings, hand drawings and print works, which he meticulously collected and cared for with great passion.
With the founding of the VAN HAM Art Estate, VAN HAM is the only German auction house specialized in the management of comprehensive artistic estates. We have also established a pioneering role in the handling and sale of large collections, so that it is now a great pleasure and honor for us to be able to offer the excellent and market-fresh works of art from the Kaletta Collection.
