SCHAEFLER, FRITZ1888 Eschau - 1954 Cologne
Title: Waldszene.
Date: Presumably 1933.
Technique: Watercolour on vellum.
Mounting: Laid down on card.
Measurement: 64 x 45,5cm.
Notation: Signed lower left: F. Schaefler. As well as inscribed and dated in Sütterlin by a hand other than that of the artist in the lower margin (difficult to read).
Condition:
Paper loss in the lower right corner (ca. 1 x 2.5cm) as well as partially in the upper image area (here possibly feeding traces of silverfish, maximum ca. 2 x 3cm). Slightly discoloured. Pinholes in the corners. Verso glued to card over the entire surface. Card slightly discoloured and with occasional slight bumpings and stainings to edges. Remains of an old mounting as well as discoloured and stained on verso of the card. Otherwise in good condition.
