This work is a preparatory drawing for the colour woodcut "Adler" (see Jahn, Fred/Gachnang, Johannes: Baselitz - Peintre-Graveur, vol. 1, catalogue raisonné of prints 1963-1974, Bern/Berlin 1983, cat. rais. no. 175, ill.).
