PAIR OF IMPRESSIVE SILVER CHAMPAGNE COOLERS WITH GILT INTERIOR.

Hanau.
Date: Around 1900.
Maker/Designer: Presumably Silverware-manufactory Hanau.
Technique: Silver with gilt interior.
Description: Scalloped foot rim, multiply grooved. Bottom of the body strongly bulged and with
cartouches on opposing sides. Those with varying depictions of Neptune with different sea
animals. On the cylindrically-shaped upper part of the body, circumferential relief with
dynamic multi-figured bacchanal under trees. The large, lateral handles in the shape of a
mermaid and a merman. Each holding two fish in their raised hands, which connect them to
the body.
Weight: 5390g.
Measurement: Height 29cm, ø 17,5cm.
Mark: Fantasy hallmarks. French import mark Cygne.
