- Exhib. cat. Hans Salentin. Spuren der Zukunft - Skulpturen und Bilder, Museum Bautzen, 2015, p. 15, ill.
Between 1959 and 1961, Salentin created a series of roof tile reliefs in his studio on the banks of the Rhine in Cologne. These are sculptures consisting partly of whole roof tiles and partly of fragments, which are embedded in cement in varying arrangements. A layer of white paint covers the surfaces, creating a multifaceted structure through the play of light and shadow that captivates the viewer's gaze. These reliefs, made of roof tiles, zinc and aluminium, were an integral part of the ZERO exhibitions until 1965. Three works from this series were also discussed in the magazine ZERO 3 in 1961.
