Jack Pierson is best known for his melancholic photographs, hazy drawings and his "word pieces" formed from old signs. The work presented here is part of his series of photo-paintings. In these works, photographic images are scanned with a computer, which then sprays them onto the canvas with paint. Two copies of the work "Atlantis" were produced in this way.
