According to a legend, the pendulum clock "Night Prayer" was designed by Reiche on the occasion of the birth of the Duke of Bordeaux. His birth was given special attention due to the death of the father, who fell victim to an assassination. The story was the main political and social issue of the time. The son became "L'enfant du miracle" and his fate moved the entire nation.
