Kyoichi Sawada won the Pulitzer Prize in 1966 for his 1965 war photographs taken during
the Vietnam War. The photo here, taken in 1965, shows a Vietnamese mother and her children
wading through a river to escape an air raid by US forces. It was awarded Press Photo of
the Year in 1965.
