1910 the active participants of Die Brücke created a catalogue for an exhibition in the Galerie Arnold in Dresden (1st to 30th September) for the first time together which is today a document of unity, their common aims and mutual respect. 1912 the second catalogue at hand was published. Special feature: Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff are represented with each three whole-page original woodcuts, Otto Mueller with one, Max Pechstein with two. Apparent: The artists broke away from the BRÜCKE unity to a large extent, pursued individual artistic intensions. By the time the exhibition in Berlin moved on and was shown in the Galerie Commeter, Hamburg, Hermannstrasse, in autumn, the calatlgue accompanied the event - with crucial differences: two woodcuts by Max Pechstein were deleted after he left the "Brücke" and they were exchanged with works by Erich Heckel and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. Thus, this catalogue is an art historical document. With this document the first step of the group break-up took place unitl the final parting took place on 27th May 1913.
