Date: Both 1942.
Technique: Pencil and coal on paper.
Measurement: Sheet size: "Astenberg" 23,5 x 31cm; "Wittlaer" 24 x
30cm. Notation: Each: Signed, numbered and titled lower left: Aspenberg: "M. Clarenbach / Herrn Karl Hartkozb zur freundl. Erinnerung. Astenberg. Winterabend 2/2.42"; "Wittlaer": M. Clarenbach / Wittlaer - Düsseldorf 11/12.42".
Condition:
"Astenberg": Paper slightly stained and discoloured. Holes from drawing-board pins in the corners at the top. Two punched holes at the left edge of the sheet. Slight waterstains at lower centre.
"Wittlaer": Paper stained and slightly yellowed. Minimal crease marks in the four corners of the sheet. Print marks from two previously attached paper clips at the top edge of the sheet. Verso with traces of rust (not visible on the images).
Otherwise the sheets are each in good condition.
