The painting was created in autumn 1913 in Godramstein, west of Landau in the Palatinate, where Slevogt's parents-in-law owned an estate. It is mentioned by Slevogt in a handwritten catalogue of paintings for the year 1913 and given the title "Hof mit Weinbütten".
The work was verbally confirmed by Mr Bernhard Geil in 2008.
