MEDICINE CONTAINER.
Origin: Nyamwezi. Tansania.
Technique: Calabash, leather, plant fiber and others.
Description: Wrapped with leather and strings of plant fibers and crowned by an impressive head with
oversized ears, whose old, shiny patina proves long use. The face on the wooden plug of
the calabash looks particularly expressive through the eyes, formed by two small white
beads.
Measurement: H.15cm.

It is an ancient "medicine box" of the Nyamwezi from East Africa, which was used to store
magical remedies.
