LARGE PORCELAIN FIGURE OF THE CARPENTER FROM THE "CRIS DE PARIS".
Meissen.
Date: Ca. 1750.
Maker/Designer: Model J. J. Kaendler.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours.
Description: A craftsman in a red waistcoat, purple jacket and white apron with blue trim stands on a
rocaille plinth. He is wearing a tricorn hat on his head, on his left he is supporting a
large saw and in his right hand he is holding an axe. A spool of thread is tucked into the
front of his apron.
Measurement: Height 22cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze.
