MAGNIFICIENT PENDULUM CLOCK WITH DIANA AND WATTEAU SCENES.

Date: 18th century.
Maker/Designer: Modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler, Johann Gottlieb Ehder and Johann Friedrich Eberlein.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in polychrome and gold.
Description: Baluster-shaped body on four volute feet, decorated with relief rocaille and reed leaves.
Crowned by a fully sculpted figure of Diana with bow and quiver, accompanied by a hunting
dog, sitting on a stylised shell. On the front and both narrow sides, depictions of
gallant couples and a mother with children in a park.
Measurement: Height 41.5cm.
Mark: Blue crossed swords mark on unglazed base. On clockwork inscr. 'Medaille d'Argent Vincent et Cie 1855' as well as numbered '1117'.
Restored.
