MONUMENTAL PORCELAIN POTPOURRI VASE "FLORA AND AMOR".
Meissen.
Date: Before 1924.
Maker/Designer: Model J.J. Kaendler.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours and gold.
Description: Reversed pear shape with branch handles. The sides densely decorated with blossom tendrils
and fruit. Flora with a flower basket is sitting on the round foot of the vase, a putto is
hovering at its side. On the front large Watteau scene, on the back finely painted bouquet
of flowers, both framed by three-dimensional flowers. Ovoid floral arrangement topping the
openwork lid. Square base on four volute feet also with richly applied floral decor.
Measurement: Height pedestal 11cm, height vase including lid 62cm.
Mark: Swordsmark. Pedestal with cancellation mark.
