PLATE FROM THE "GREEN WATTEAU SERVICE".

Meissen.
Date: Around 1740/50.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched with colour and green Camaieu.
Description: Curved rim. Gotzkowsky-relief décor and in the center fine Watteau scene with couple at a
monument with columns.
Measurement: ø 24,5cm.
Mark: Swordsmark.

Provenance:
Private collection Westphalia.

The 'Green Watteau Service' was created on the occasion of the tenth wedding anniversary of Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony (daughter of August III) with King Charles of Naples-Sicily and was given to the couple by her father in 1748.
