Description: The mountain nymph and virgin huntress Daphne and the immortally enamoured Apoll on a
rectangular pedestal. She is about to turn into a laurel tree while the young god touches
her on the hips with one finger.
Measurement: Height 36,5cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under the glaze. Model number I9, cameo mark 14c and painter's number 68.
The well-known motif from Ovid's Metamorphoses goes back to the life-size marble sculpture
by Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1622-1625).
