PORCELAIN WRITING SET WITH VIEWS OF SAXONY.

Date: Before 1924.
Technique: Porcelain, cobalt blue ground, enriched in polychrome and gold.
Description: The writing utensils consist of a feather tray, an inkwell, a saucer, a table bell, a
candlestick and a candle snuffer. Each is painted with quatrefoil reserves framed by gold
tendrils. These contain polychrome flower paintings or landscape and city views of
"Bastei", "Schandau", "Prebischthor", "View from Lilienstein" and "Dresden". The edge is
painted with a fine gold lace border.
Measurement: Length of the feather tray up to 23cm, height of the table bell up to 10cm.
Mark: Blue crossed swords mark, partial embossed number, once painter's- and model number. Place name in black on the reverse side.
