Notation: Signed and dated lower left: O Modersohn 38.
Frame/Pedestal: Craftman's frame.
Verso on the stretcher frame is a handwritten acknowledgement by Christian Modersohn from 03.10.1970.

Provenance:
- Family Heinemann, Osnabrück, since 1941, purchased from an atelier
- Private collection North Germany
- Very atmospheric, moonlit night in the Worpswede swamp captured in a characteristic manner
- Offered on the international auction market for the first time.
