Title: "Bronze und Gold X".
Date: 1958/61.
Technique: Oil, bronze and lacquer on beaverboard.
Measurement: 39 x 26 x 5cm.
Notation: Signed and dated verso centre: Piene (circled) 58-61. Beneath signed and titled on lable: Otto Piene Bronze und Gold X.
The work is accompanied by two original documents from 1971 and 2009 in which Otto Piene confirms the authenticity of the work.
Provenance:
- Private collection North Rhine-Westphalia

- Glibota, Ante: Otto Piene, Villorba (Tv)/Italien, 2011, p. 110 (here inverted)
- Back on the art market for the first time after more than 50 years in a private collection
- Mentioned with colour illustration in the standard work by Ante Glibota
- Painted from 1958 - 1961 in the midst of the main ZERO phase
- According to Piene, "artistically more direct" than the later raster paintings.
