Frame/Pedestal: Craftman's frame.
From December 1957 to December 1958, Picasso worked on a series of lithographs depicting his second wife Jacqueline. The six plates were reworked several times, even after the artist had authorised the printing of an edition of the first states.
Our copy was also renamed as part of the reworking process. The first state still bore the title 'Buste de Femme au Corsage Blanc' (cf. lit.).
