Maker/Designer: Design attributed to Edouard Lièvre.
Technique: Firegilt bronze. Coloured Cloisonné-enamel.
Description: Consisting of a pendulum clock and a pair of four-armed girandoles. Pendulum clock in the
shape of a temple gate with temple lions and the movement suspended in a capsule-shaped
case on a crossbeam with ornamental décor. The dial with Chinese numerals and the clock
hands in the shape of dragons. 14-day pendulum movement with half-hour strike on gong
spiral, cylinder echappement. The columns and the case with rich cloisonné décor showing
cherry blossom branches and birds.
Measurement: Pendulum clock: 39x24,5x14cm. Girandoles: height each 41cm.
Mark: Movement inscr. "Charles M" and numbered, Medaille.
