HISTORISM DRINKING SHIP ON WHEELS.
Presumably Germany.
Date: 19th century.
Technique: Gilt silver.
Description: On four small, movable wheels the slender ship's prow decorated with waves and sea
creatures in relief. Central mast with crow's nest. The billowed sail with an engraved
coat of arms, showing a rearing lion under a crest. On the deck four cannons and numerous
small figurines. Next to the mast a rectangular opening for filling the hull. In place of
the figurehead at the front of the bow, a spout in the shape of a sea animal with nozzle.
Weight: Ca. 790g.
Measurement: 28x28,5x8,5cm.
Mark: On sails slightly indistinct, made up marks.
