WALNUT GAME TABLE WITH SYMBOLS OF FREEMASONS.
Presumably The Netherlands.
Date: Ca. 1750.
Technique: Walnut, maple, various fruit woods, brass, felt.
Description: Narrow, rectangular shape with fold-out table top. When closed, it is decorated on the
left and right with masonic symbols in oval medallions, with an inlaid chessboard in the
centre. The top is open with small indentations for money and stands for candlesticks at
the corners.
Measurement: Closed 72x82x33.5cm, open 67x82cm.
Clear drying cracks in the veneer.
