With metal printing, Rolf Nesch developed his own new printing process, with which he found a unique formal language. Using the printing technique of etching, he experimented with soldering metal wires and applying metal gauzes and perforated plates to create "reliefs", which he often designed in colour. The prints thus take on the character of monotypes and can be regarded as unique pieces.
