Origin: Khmer style.
Date: Probably 18th-19th c.
Technique: Bronze with casting core. Greenish brown powdry patina.
Measurement: H.50cm.
The standing bronze figure of Vishnu, apparently used for the Deva-Ruja ritual which invokes Vishnu to inhabit the King's person at the time of consecration and to establish a divine identity (God-King) beyond the merely mortal existence. The casted figure here is very similar to the stone statue of Vishnu which is worshiped until today in Angkor Wat.

North German privte collection. Family owned for about 30 years.
