LARGE CERAMIC FIGURINE OF AN EAGLE OWL ON STACK OF BOOKS AS A LAMP.
Wien. Kunstkeramische Fabrik A. Förster & Co.
Date: Around 1905.
Maker/Designer: Model by Ferdinand Doblinger.
Technique: Ceramic, enriched in colours. Eyes made of plastic.
Description: Large, slightly grim-looking eagle owl, crouching on two books placed on top of each
other. Eyes worked à jour and underlaid with slightly opaque plastic to allow the light of
the interior lighting to shine through.
Measurement: Height 82cm.
Mark: On the backside inscribed 'Förster Deposé 216', minted. On the upper side of the top book inscribed 'Doblinger 903' in black.
Electrified.
