Clockwork: Key winding, Duplex escapement.
Case/Wristband: presumably gold, not stamped, enamelled, enamel dial, arched, sawn brass hands, second indication.
Total Weight: ca. 157,0 g with key and chatelaine.
Measurement: Ø ca. 58 mm.
Description: A museum pocket watch by William Ilbery (1760-1839) for the Chinese market. Probably gold case, elaborately engraved and polychrome enamelled. On the back an enamel miniature with an antique representation. Probably a depiction of Achilles among the daughters of Lycomedes.
Bridge movement, key-winding, flying mainspring barrel, annular position as limitation of the spring force, duplex escapement, lavish engraved clock mechanism, balance wheel under diamond rose as cap jewel, blued screws. Movement under sythetic glazing, spring cover at the back. Arched enamel dial, Roman numerals, dash numerals. Sawn original hands, blued steel central second hand.
Case in very good condition, almost as new.
Historical, matching key with enamel miniature to it.
Condition C:
Movement: Good condition, slightly oxidised, slightly scratched, the setting finger of the regulator arm is missing. .
Dial: very good condition, slightl yscratched, original hands.
Case: very good condition, slightly scratched, slight traces of wear. enaml minimally damaged at 6/7 o'clock.
