ANCIENT GEMSTONE-NECKLACE.
Material: 900/- yellow gold, tested.
Total Weight: ca. 23,0 g.
Measurement: Length necklace 41,0 cm, pendant 7,5 cm.
Gemstones: 1 deep red gemstone in cabochon-cut, 17,7 x 11,1 mm, 7 gemstones in cabochon-cut, 1 gemstone in cabochon-cut at the clasp, presumably garnets, 2 small green gemstones.
Condition: Consistent with its age in a severely worn condition, yet well-maintained. Gold
in many places oxidised and tarnished, with partially severe losses. The lower beads at
the necklace show distinct abrasion. Settings partially severely frayed. Gemstones display
minor superficial damages, one of the smaller stones with crack. Smaller bumps visible on
the gold. Verso manufacturing characteristics distinctly visible in the form of soldered
pieces.
