A.R. Penck deals with information theory, cybernetic studies as well as signals and symbols in th esearch for a universal pictorial language. From his gained knowledge he developes his "StandART"-System of pictograph like symboles and figures which developed into his label. With this primitive rock drawing or hieroglyphics, which can be experienced very directly through sign language he illustrates for us ironically and yet seriously his visula analysis of the existing states of human coexistance.
