UNUSUAL CABINET CASE WITH LANDSCAPE AND ALLEGORY OF HOPE.

Augsburg.
Date: Ca. 1730.
Technique: Soft wooden body. Shield plate partially backed with gold foil. The brass fitting and feet, fire gilded and engraved.
Description: Rectangular body with fine shield plate veneer on finely engraved paw feet. The doors show
bastion filling and fine lock fittings. Inside two wide drawers running along the entire
length of the chest. Between these a large middle drawer with the depiction of hope with
anchor, flanked by the two smaller drawers. On the fronts fine reverse glass maintings
with landscapes or hunting scenes. Inside the drawers are covered with Augsburg brocade
paper.
Measurement: 23,5x25,5x14,5cm.
Painting on two drawers off.
