BODHISATTVA MAITREYA STANDING ON DOUBLE LOTUS BASE.
Origin: Pakistan. Gandhara.
Date: 2nd/3rd century.
Technique: Grey schist.
Description: Architectural fragment. The richly draped robe covers the left shoulder and a wide sash
hangs down in a long curve. The right hand is cut off, the left hand holds a water bottle.
A pearl necklace rests on the exposed chest. The hair tied into a chignon. A halo behind
the head.
Measurement: 52x17, 5x8,5cm.
