Private collection Berlin.
The ceramic artist and author Edmund de Waal was born in 1964 in Nottingham, England, and was already fascinated by ceramics during his school education. In the years that followed, he increasingly focussed on it and was given the opportunity to learn the local pottery traditions as part of a two-year scholarship in Japan. This influence can still be seen today in his design language and choice of glaze colours. His work has been exhibited at the Tate Britain and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, among others. In 2010, he published the book 'The Hare with Amber Eyes'. It tells the story of his family and was a worldwide success.
