ELEGANT YOGINI IN DANCING POSTURE.
Origin: Khmer.
Dynasty: Bayon period (1180-1230).
Date: 13th c.
Technique: Bronze with gilding and greenish patina.
Description: The lady is shown standing on her left leg with the right one drawn up. Her right hand is
rised up high, her left holds an object in front of her body. She wears a close fitted
garment sampot chang kben, which is draped in front in the shape of tiered fish tails. Her
arms and legs are adorned with bangles, around her neck a collier, in her ears have
pendants and on the head a crown with a diadem.
Measurement: H.16.4cm.
Frame/Pedestal: Mounted on a base. Condition B.
